Squier P Bass Special 5 Reviews 5

Purchase 5 string Squier P-Bass online from Music123 for about $230.

I was pleasantly surprised when I discovered how good this bass sounded. It sounds like a fender bass and I have received comments from my band mates as well as other bass players about how good it sounds. This bass is a lot better than it's price tag would indicate. I sometimes take only this bass to a gig and use it all night long. It rocks!

There wasn't a lot not to like. The fret work was good but the ends of the frets felt kind of sharp. I rounded off the fret ends and gave them a good played in feel. I also used a little steel wool on the back of the neck and applied tung oil. You'd be impressed how this neck feels now. Other than setting the intonation and action to suit my playing I thought this bass was excellent for the money.

I was impressed. This bass could easily cost 2 or 3 times what I paid. Construction was very solid and the components were good!

I have a Fender American Standard Jazzbass 5 string with which to compare the P bass and I can tell you my band mates prefer the sound of the P over the J. It pisses me off but thats the truth. The P isn't quite as dark as the J and seems to cut through the mix better than the J. Go figure!
